Robert Oppenheimer. In this incendiary Atomic Age thriller, Nolan thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man, Oppenheimer, regarded as the “father of the atomic bomb” who must risk destroying the world in order to save it in a race against the Nazis. Both written and directed by Nolan, the morally complex Oppenheimer is brought to life by longtime Nolan collaborator Cillian Murphy (who will surely be in hot contention for an Academy Award).
